Our Mission is to place you and your family in a safe, decent, affordable house in the Middle Keys. We build for people in need regardless of race or religion. You and your family will be considered for a Habitat home if you meet the following criteria:
Need
If your present housing is inadequate and you are unable to obtain adequate
housing through conventional means.
Ability and willingness to partner by contributing "sweat equity" hours.
A minimum of hours of "sweat equity" must be completed prior to receiving
the house.
Capability of paying us back for the cost of the house.
Your earnings, Debt to Income ration and credit scores will be scrutinized to
ensure that this venture is feasible. You and your family will be considered
if your annual total income is less that 120% of Monroe County Area Median
Income. The following table illustrates the 2009 guidelines:
1 person $39,000-$63,120
2 people $40,620-$72,240
3 people $45,120-$81,240
4 people $48,720-$90,240
5 people $53,320-$97,440
6 people $55,920-$104,640
The average cost for the house is $175,000. We offer them at a twenty (20) year
zero percent (0%) mortgage, thus making the monthly payment approximately
$730.00.
Most of our families qualify for additional credits, such as the SHIP program which
allows you to borrow toward your home and pay back in thirty (30) years, still at zero (0) percent.

These are mandatory meetings that you must attend in order to begin the process. Here you will receive an application and learn about our requirements. At this time we do not have any scheduled. Please check back, or contact us. We also advertise the meetings in our local papers and through flyers at prominent locations in town.
